Japan's lesson of economy and environment..

Ginza, Japan was one of the most fast-booming countries in its years.. many infrastructures, new technologies, good economy and GNP remarkably high..

But, while in these stages Japan did not notice how they affect the environment due to their booming infrastructures and factories which contribute alot to pollution.. Many diseases were epidemically around their country due to the factories emitting sulfuric acid to the atmosphere affecting most of the people in their own country.. “itai itai”  mosalled, Minamata, JapaneYokkaichi were the disease that struck their country due to their rapid development..

When people was already affected, they oozed to a rally which forced the government to clean their own mess causing them millions of dollars..

Through these experiences Japan were taught by their own on how to be cautious on their acts.

Ulugan Bay

Ulugan bay is located in Palawan, one of the most beautiful places on earth, the question is how do we preserve our natural wonders  of the world.. people will build such big hotels and etc. to attract tourists not knowing that we may damage our wonders.. how do we preserve such gifts from our own God? maybe by not developing the place will take much effect, by not abusing the nature and make it natural as possible and just enjoy what we have and to be contented..

11th hour

1)  Describe some of the emotions you felt during the film. Which aspects of the video had the greatest impact on you and why?

- After watching the film 11th hour, disappointment was the only feeling i felt.. all of the people on earth just care for themselves, we don't know that after some time we all will suffer for being selfish just to sustain ourselves and not taking care of the "home" we call..

2) What information contained in the video was new to you?

-  he greenhouse gases, because it struck me most knowing that even little contributions to the said greenhouse gases, add it up if millions of people will all contribute to that it will be a massive change in our climate as said in the video.. so why not contribute in a good way it will also be a massive contribution but in a GOOD WAY..

3)  What topics presented in the film would you like to explore further? Do you know what you need to know in order to continue learning about environmental issues? I the answer to that question is no, how can you find out what you need to know?

- I would like to explore more on the renewable sources of energy.

4) Discuss ways that eating locally produced food is an environmental issue. What can individuals do to support the local production and consumption of foods?

- Proper waste disposal, try not to get plastics when you buy food, and be aware of recyclable items and support the products which are aware of the global issues being discussed.

5) Who should see this film and for what purposes? Who might be unreceptive to the ideas in the film and why?

- For me, i would say students so that they can be enlightened on how they can help in the environmental issues.. Engineers so that they can develop more newer technologies that can prevent the global warming, and lastly the people who don't care for the environment so that they will realize what they've done to our mother earth..

6) Share one issue or item that you wrote on your index card while you were watching the 11thhour.

- "Little contributions" if added up can make a great change, either in a good or bad way.. .

7) As a result of your having seen this film, what, if any, specific actions do you think you will take?

- I can start as a good citizen by being aware of what i can contribute to our earth, and reminding other people on how we affect our earth in our own little ways..

Christmas Party (Zero Waste)...

The Christmas party was so great... the bonding of each other were really good, we talked, played and ate... each and every classmates surely enjoyed the experience..

Here, I can tell that this Christmas party was unforgettable because of the purpose of "zero waste", which was almost forgotten by most of us, but to wrap it up, the purpose was really attended to and we got home fulfilled, not just our stomachs were filled with food but also our hearts too, knowing that we contributed to the environment in a good way.

SHELL-ECO

My Experience in SHELL-ECO...

I am so excited knowing that shell-eco-marathon will be held in our country and our own home school, DBTC, will be joining the event itself and also on my part, I felt so happy because we were part of building the HEV (hybrid-electric-vehicle) which made me proud..

When we got there, it was really amazing that SHELL made a good event place, how organized the event was, how good the event place was, and not to mention the SHELL ladies were very beautiful, while walking and observing around I can say that almost every part of this event was an eye-opening to the people who's been there, because I myself realized that we can conserve energy by newer technologies, and lastly, the cars were really astonishing, every design of the cars were amazing, here, I can say that going to such event can make you realize, acquire, and learn new things that you can ponder.

Sustainability

SUSTAINABILITY

What is sustainability?

Sustainability is how our environment can endure, sustain or maintain itself. How sustainability affect our everyday lives? It is how we contribute to our environment how we affect the environment, is it on the positive or negative side. We should be aware of that, so, we can sustain our "home" (earth) the way it should be.. livable..

How can you as a student contribute to sustainability?

  • Be attentive on how you contribute to the atmosphere
  • Be environment friendly in every aspect as a student
  • Be cautious to the needs of our environment
  • Be conservative in the use of the natural resources
